When should the follow-up examination take place after laser eye surgery?
Dr. Victor Derhartunian explains how often and when follow-up checks are necessary after laser eye treatment
We usually see the patient on the first day after the operation. The next check-up takes place after one month, where the patient’s vision is also checked and we determine whether the agreed goals have been achieved. If the patient has the best vision, the next check-up takes place in a year. If there is a small deviation, we check it in three to four months, and then we might also plan a follow-up correction. Ultimately, it’s about ensuring that the overall result is optimal for the patient.
