What is checked during the preliminary laser eye examination?
Dr. Victor Derhartunian explains the aim of the preliminary examination.
During the preliminary examination, your eyes will undergo a complete ophthalmologic examination and, in addition to the ophthalmologic examination, your eyes will be measured specifically for the laser eye surgery.
During the eye examination, the pupils are dilated, the eye pressure is measured and the back of the eye is examined.
In other words, we determine or have to determine that you have a healthy organ. Only when you have a healthy organ do we take the next step and plan a laser eye operation. Safety is the top priority in these procedures.
