How does the lens exchange operation work?

Author: Dr. Victor Derhartunian 10 November 2021

Lens replacement involves replacing the body’s own lens with an artificial lens.
This is done through a surgical procedure.

This is performed under local anesthesia, which means that patients do not receive an injection to anesthetize the eye, but only eye drops, and are then pain-free during the operation.

A small incision is made in the cornea.
Using a modified ultrasound device, the lens is liquefied and suctioned out, and then an artificial lens is implanted in exactly the same place where your natural lens was located, which we calculate individually for each patient before the operation.
After the operation, the most important thing is that you do not rub or press on the eye.
Otherwise you can continue to live your everyday life as normal. I cordially invite you to book an appointment with EyeLaser.
This appointment can also be arranged online.
During this appointment, initial clarifications will be carried out and you will get to know our team personally.
