Laser eye surgery for police candidates – EyeLaser
Michael N., police trainee, talks about his experience with EyeLaser
I was short-sighted, had -2.75 diopters, and that bothered me a lot because I wanted to be a police officer and that was too much for my career aspirations, and because it was only in my left eye, it was very inconvenient in general, because I didn’t want to wear glasses, but then I always had a headache in the evening on a busy day and that became too much for me at some point.
The main aspect was that I wanted to be a police officer.
I was very nervous on the day of the operation, I had mixed feelings.
But the way I came here, the team gave me very good advice and helped me to stop being so nervous.
The doctor told me a joke in the operating room to loosen me up. So, from that point of view, it went very well and the operation was painless.
I didn’t expect it to go so quickly and so smoothly.
The really first moment I can remember was when I slept for a day and had my eye closed all the time.
Then on the second day I woke up and could finally see something in my left eye again.
That was the first moment of success, when I thought to myself: “It’s working, it’s working”.
I was very ”happy” at that moment.
Yes, I am very happy.
I also went straight to the army two days after the operation.
I didn’t have any problems in the army either, despite the strain of the training service.
I never had any problems with my eye and I followed my doctor’s instructions with the eye drops and everything went very well.
