This means that the patient then sees well at a distance and also well up close.
The great thing about monovision is that it can also be personalized.
This means that you can give the patient a better distance or a better proximity and if something is missing in the other distance, in one or the other distance, you can compensate for this with the spectacles.
For example, we have monovision and the patient manages quite well at all distances during the day, but something is missing at dusk when driving, and in this case we would make the patient a pair of glasses for perfect distance vision and they would always stay in the glove compartment of the car.
And vice versa, the patient sees perfectly at all distances during the day, but lacks something when reading the medication instructions, in which case you would make the patient a very small pair of reading glasses, which are only really needed for special requirements.
