The best treatment methods in one place:

At EyeLaser in Vienna, you will find the most modern treatment methods under one roof. Always with the latest technology, the latest medical procedures and the best equipment – so that you feel comfortable and your eye surgery is safe and complication-free.

In the heart of Vienna (Opernring 1 Stiege R, 5th floor – 1010 Vienna) we look forward to welcoming you to our laser eye center. We have the know-how, the surgeons and the equipment to treat almost any visual defect or eye disease in the best possible way:

The right laser eye treatment for your defective vision

More than half of people in Austria wear glasses or contact lenses because they suffer from defective vision. The following visual defects are present – sometimes cumulatively – and make it difficult to see clearly in everyday life and make us dependent on visual aids:

Which laser eye surgery method is suitable for your visual defect(s) is determined individually in the course of a comprehensive preliminary examination. The aim at EyeLaser is always to ensure that you no longer need to wear glasses or contact lenses after the procedure. We offer the following procedures for this purpose:

Femto-LASIK 7D

The femtosecond laser prepares a flap on the corneal surface, which is folded down. The excimer laser is then used to prepare the cornea in such a way that the visual defect is corrected.

  • Short-sightedness: -8 diopters / max. -10 diopters
  • Farsightedness: 4 diopters / max. 4 diopters
  • Astigmatism: 5 diopters / max. 6 diopters
Trans-PRK 7D

The excimer laser removes the uppermost layer of the cornea (epithelium) in order to subsequently correct the defective vision in the corneal stroma. At EyeLaser Vienna, we use the Schwind AMARIS 1050RS.

  • Short-sightedness: -6 diopters / max. -8 diopters
  • Farsightedness: < 3 diopters / max 3 diopters
  • Astigmatism: 5 diopters / max. 6 diopters
SmartSight

Without a flap or extensive corneal ablation, SmartSight is performed as a “keyhole method”. A lenticule is formed and removed with high precision through a tiny incision so that you can see perfectly.

  • Short-sightedness: -0.5 to -10 diopters
  • Farsightedness: correction not possible
  • Astigmatism: 5 diopters

Lens surgery instead of laser eye surgery – also for cataracts

If conventional laser eye surgery is not suitable – for example because the visual defect is too pronounced or an eye disease such as cataracts is present – we offer lens surgery in Vienna as an alternative that is at least as effective. Common areas of application are

  • Cataract surgery
  • Lens exchange for presbyopia (55+)
  • Correction of severe visual defects

In this case, the visual defect itself or the cataract is not cured by using a laser. Instead, the lens is replaced with an artificial lens (ICL) or exchanged so that the patient can see clearly again and the cataract is permanently removed.

ICL lens implantation

The natural lens is supplemented by a foldable artificial lens made of Collamer (ICL Phake lens). This works together to compensate for the visual defect. Lens implantation in Vienna is particularly worthwhile for:

  • Thin cornea / dry eyes
  • People who are not suitable for laser eye surgery
  • Irregular cornea
Lens exchange with monofocal lenses (standard cataract surgery)

Whether for defective vision, presbyopia or cataracts, the natural lens is removed and replaced with an artificial lens. In this way, cataracts can be cured or prevented and individual visual defects can be corrected.

  • Monofocal lenses have one focal point
  • Visual aids are therefore required after the procedure
  • Astigmatism correction included
Lens exchange with multifocal lenses (cataract surgery lifestyle)

In contrast to standard lens replacement, ultra-modern multifocal lenses are used here instead of the natural lens. These have several focal points, which has the following advantages for the patient:

  • Cataract surgery and vision correction in one operation
  • No more glasses or contact lenses
  • Astigmatism correction included

Correcting presbyopia & treating keratoconus / PMD

Vision often begins to deteriorate in our mid-40s – a gradual process leading to presbyopia. But here too, at EyeLaser in Vienna, we have the right procedures to stop and correct presbyopia so that you can do without visual aids even in old age. We offer the following presbyopia treatments at our laser eye center in Vienna:

Keratoconus causes progressive thinning due to protrusion of the cornea. It is the most common cause of the need for a corneal transplant. However, crosslinking can stop the bulging and possibly even reduce it. Treatment with keratoconus ring segments, which we are one of the few clinics in the world to offer at our laser eye center in Vienna, then helps.

Laser eye surgery in Bratislava? Or would it be better in Vienna?

Time and again we hear from patients who are thinking about having their laser eye treatment abroad. Especially for people from Austria or Vienna, going to Bratislava for laser eye surgery seems to be an option. The number one reason often cited is the cost of correcting defective vision.

Laser eye surgery costs per eye abroad: really cheaper?

But is laser eye surgery in Bratislava really that much cheaper? The short answer is: sometimes it may seem so at first glance. However, it is often forgotten that you also have additional costs for the journey(s) – especially for the follow-up appointments – and may have to pay for overnight accommodation. If you add up all the expenses, the price difference is almost non-existent.

Do not save on your own health during laser treatment:

But before you even start comparing prices, it is worth taking a look at the services. With laser eye surgery in Vienna at EyeLaser, you can be sure that the highest medical standards are maintained, that you will be treated by experienced, internationally renowned surgeons and that the latest and best laser eye procedures are always available to you. And all this with complete cost transparency – everything is included in the price (surgery and follow-up checks). What’s more, as a Viennese or Austrian, you are always close by and can drop by our laser eye center at short notice if necessary.

How much does laser eye surgery without glasses cost at the Eye Laser Center Vienna?

We at EyeLaser are transparent with our prices – there are no hidden costs here. The aptitude test is free of charge. The preliminary examination costs 200 euros. So everything is included in the prices – the All-inclusive eye laser package:

  • Minimally invasive procedure of your choice
  • 3 follow-up checks until complete healing

The laser eye surgery costs in Vienna and Linz vary depending on the chosen treatment method. You can find a price overview here!

Incidentally, the costs of laser eye surgery can be covered by health insurance under certain circumstances. If you choose us as your ophthalmologist in Vienna, we will support you with advice, assistance and the necessary documents to help you cover the costs of refractive surgery.

Laser eye surgery in Vienna that you can and want to afford

Of course, vision correction – whether with EyeLaser or another provider – is a major investment. As we have made it our mission to enable as many people as possible to live a better life without visual defects and eye diseases, we offer you two flexible financing options:
