Is it possible to have presbyopia lasered?

Dr. Victor Derhartunian explains the treatment options for presbyopia.

Many people ask me whether presbyopia can also be treated by laser.
Well, if we treat a young patient who has -3 or -5 diopters, for example, then the young person sees very well, both near and far.
When presbyopia sets in, and this begins between the ages of 40 and 45, distance vision remains stable and near vision decreases.
Reading glasses would then be used slowly.
There is also a way to trick the brain, and here we can perform an asymmetrical correction of the eyes.
This means that one eye is corrected for distance vision, the other eye for near vision, the two images merge and this results in a relatively good image at near and distance.
This also saves the need for reading glasses over a longer period of time.
Now, some patients tolerate this principle and the other group does not tolerate it at all.
We have to find this out with you, the patient, by testing it with the contact lenses.
The final answer is given by you, the patient, and in the end I am the executor who can plan and apply the appropriate and optimal treatment.
