At what age can you have your eyes lasered?

Dr. Victor Derhartunian explains when laser vision correction is recommended

In principle, laser eye surgery is not a recommendation; it is a decision that you have to make yourself.
The surgeon will accompany you.
He will examine you, take your values, operate on you and ensure that the result is optimal.
The best time for laser eye surgery is when your distance vision is stable.
This means that you need to have stable spectacle prescriptions for a certain period of time, at least a year.
Only then, that is actually a guarantee that the visual acuity will not change in the future.
There are patients who have stable spectacle values at the age of 18 and there are also patients at the age of 28 who still have no stability.
This means that you have to assess this stability objectively and simply compare it.
Whether this is with old spectacle values, if the patient brings an old spectacle pass or old contact lens values, or even if they bring their old spectacles with them.
We can then measure these glasses.
If we know how old these glasses are, we can compare them with the examination carried out in preparation for the laser eye surgery, which in turn gives us a very objective measurement.
This is the basis for stability after laser eye surgery.
