Those affected by vision problems should pay particular attention to the effects on <strong>eye health<\/strong> and, if necessary, consider glasses or other therapy to improve their well-being. Only if the eye is adequately supplied with all the necessary micronutrients through a healthy and balanced diet can it function properly and be less susceptible to eye diseases such as age-related <a href=\"https:\/\/eyelaser.at\/en\/age-related-macular-degeneration-amd-symptoms-causes-treatment\/\">macular degeneration<\/a> and other problems in the long term.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which nutrients are particularly important for the eyes?  <\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the most important are <strong>vitamin A<\/strong>, which is essential for retinal function, <strong>omega-3 fatty acids<\/strong>, which support the tear film and <strong>cornea<\/strong>, and <strong>antioxidants<\/strong> such as <strong>vitamin C<\/strong> and <strong>vitamin E<\/strong>, which help protect cells from oxidative stress. These nutrients work in combination and contribute to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eyelaser.at\/en\/dry-eyes\/\">dry eyes<\/a><\/strong> dry eyes, strengthen the retina and slow down the eye&#8217;s natural ageing process. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vitamin A: The role of carrots and other sources of vitamin A  <\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Vitamin A<\/strong> is crucial for <strong>healthy eyes <\/strong>as it plays a central role in <strong>vision<\/strong>. It is therefore important not to ignore dry eyes and to initiate treatment in good time.    <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Medication for the health of our eyesight and visual organs  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are various <strong>medications<\/strong> that are specifically aimed at supporting the <strong>health of our eyesight<\/strong> and <strong>visual organs<\/strong> or alleviating <strong>eye complaints<\/strong>. These range from <strong>over-the-counter<\/strong> preparations to <strong>prescription<\/strong> medications, depending on the type and severity of the <strong>eye condition<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Non-prescription medicines:<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Artificial tears<\/strong>: eye drops to relieve <strong>dry eyes<\/strong>.
