We offer all-inclusive fixed prices because we guarantee full planning certainty without cost traps. The model is fair because it already includes the preliminary examination, wavefront analysis, the care kit (medications), and 1 year of aftercare.
Is laser eye surgery tax-deductible?
Yes, in the canton of Zurich this is possible because out-of-pocket medical expenses that exceed 5% of net income are considered an “extraordinary burden.” It’s deductible because refractive surgery is recognized under tax law as an approved medical treatment.
Why are there prices from CHF 990?
Such offers are often cheaper because they are “bait prices” for very low diopters. They’re cheaper because older laser technology (without wavefront) is often used and medications or follow-up checks are billed separately.
Why is SmartSight more expensive than LASIK?
The SmartSight method is more expensive, because it uses patented single-use instruments for each eye (maximum hygiene). It is also more costly, because the SCHWIND ATOS laser used is technologically more advanced than older systems and enables more precise, flap-free correction.
Does health insurance (basic insurance) cover eye laser treatment?
No, refractive surgery is considered elective medicine in Switzerland. Exceptions exist only for very high diopters (>10 dpt) or intolerance to lenses/glasses, but this is rarely approved.
Does supplementary insurance (VVG) cover costs?
Often yes. Many supplementary insurers (e.g., Helsana, Swica, CSS) contribute between CHF 500 and CHF 1,500 per eye. We’re happy to provide the necessary documentation for reimbursement.
Can I deduct eye laser treatment from my taxes?

What does an enhancement cost if the result isn’t perfect?
With our premium packages (SmartSight NOVA, Femto Premium) and lens surgeries, an enhancement within the warranty period (or Bioptics) is free of charge.
Is the ICL lens included in the price?
Yes, the price for the ICL includes the custom-made EVO+ lens from STAAR Surgical, implantation, and aftercare.
How is the price for cataract surgery made up?
The basic surgery is covered by insurance (TARDOC). You will only receive an invoice from us for the selected upgrades (e.g., trifocal lens or femto laser).
Can I pay in installments?
Yes, via our partner heylight we offer installment payments. With a 12-month term, often even at 0% interest.
Do I have to pay the full amount before the procedure?
As a rule, payment is due on the day of treatment. For lens orders, a deposit may be required.
What does keratoconus treatment cost?
If health insurance issues a cost approval (which is often the case with progression), we bill according to TARDOC. For self-payers, the price—depending on the method (CXL/CAIRS)—is between CHF 2,000 and 5,000.
Does insurance cover lens exchange (RLE) from age 45?
No, if there is no medical indication (such as cataract), lens exchange is a self-pay service.
Are the medications included in the price?
Yes, you will receive a “care kit” with all necessary drops and protective glasses for the first days after the procedure.
What happens if I need to reschedule the appointment?
Up to 48 hours in advance, this is free of charge. After that, cancellation fees may apply, as we have reserved the operating room and team for you.
Is the OptiLight package worth it before surgery?
Absolutely. A stable tear film increases the precision of laser measurements and speeds up healing. The CHF 600 are an investment in the final result.
